Ternary Bismuthides Li3REBi2 (RE = Ce, Pr, Sm, Gd) with Li3LaSb2-type Structure

The ternary lithium bismuthides Li3REBi2 (RE = Ce, Pr, Sm, Gd) were synthesized from the elements in sealed niobium ampoules and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction. They crystallize with the Li3LaSb2-type structure, space group Pm1.
